Renee Jones, a recovering addict and survivor of sex trafficking, began her journey to recovery on February 14, 2000. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, and she is a certified mental health professional in Florida. Renee is affiliated with several prominent organizations, including the Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network and the United States Institute Against Human Trafficking.
Renee has made significant contributions to her community, serving on the Community Health Activation Team and the Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services Board in Cleveland, Ohio. She currently chairs the Florida Statewide Action Plan to Reduce and Prevent Sexual Violence.
In Birmingham, Alabama, Renee founded the Reconnection to Life Inc. Women’s Center, providing transitional housing for women post-incarceration. She also founded I Speak Hope and operates In Community Counseling LLC in Florida.
Her work in mental health has been widely recognized, earning her the Mental Health Association of Central Alabama Award, the Birmingham Resolution Award, and the distinguished Clifford W. Beers Award from Mental Health America in 2024.
Renee has developed crisis intervention training for law enforcement. She has been a speaker at numerous events, including the International Human Trafficking & Social Justice Conference and the Circuit 5 Human Trafficking Symposium. She has hosted the radio show "Sisters Talk" and published her first book in 2011, "Mama Ain’t Teach Me That," which details her upbringing and experiences of abuse.
Renee’s journey and achievements have inspired many, providing hope and spiritual nourishment to those in need.
