About this Talk
Addiction is a form of escape and an attempt to ignore emotional distresses that are often subconscious. Here lies a significant problem for many who endure one relapse after another – the lack of awareness of what drives them toward addictive behaviors such as sex, food, gaming, work, gambling, and more.
Despite the desire to change, sobriety slips away repeatedly as the recovery strategies individuals are provide fail. Understanding core emotional triggers that activate the Inner Child can assist individuals in lowering their anxiety level and therefore make more rational choices. This approach assists clients and empowers them to take control of their addiction by understanding what distressers they are trying to escape.
This trama-based therapy approach allows individuals to understand "why" they engage in addictive behaviors. This knowledge inturn enables them to stay one step ahead of addiction by understanding the core emotional triggers that activate their Inner Child.
The key to sobriety is realizing the road to recovery goes through a person's childhood. Why? Because it is their Inner Child who keeps them stuck in addiction.
